Atlas (2014) John Shankie

The potential of (mis)communication: from mondegreens to malapropisms; from broken telephones to Chinese whispers; from semaphore to scribble.

This workshop sets out to discover and celebrate playful mis-hearings and mis-readings of verbal, visual and musical communication.

Join us with artist John Shankie who leads this workshop based on his experience of a lifetime’s exposure to the exaggeration, bluster and hyperbole of his family archive of songs, story-telling, excuses and fibs (he grew up in a family of 14 aunts, 14 uncles and 37 cousins – and not counting his parents, grand-parents and 3 sisters!).
