A curated weekend of speakers and performance taking place across the two islands of Skye and North Uist that should prove a unique, unusual and rewarding participatory experience.
This event has been planned to coincide with ATLAS Arts’ GENERATION commission Are you LOCATIONALIZED by Joanne Tatham and Tom O’Sullivan. GENERATION is a major, nation-wide exhibition programme showcasing some of the best and most significant art to have emerged from Scotland over a 25 year period.
Travelling between Tatham and O’Sullivan artworks spanning two Hebridean islands will be an active feature of the event with interspersed performances, talks and moments for convivial exchange. On Saturday and Sunday participants are invited to join perambulatory bus tours of Skye and Uist with contributions from guest speakers revealing aspects of the psychogeography of the passing landscape.
The programme has been constructed to ensure that all participants have the opportunity to meet the artists and guest contributors, and engage with each other. This event is unique in its pace and format ensuring that people take time to engage with the location, the artwork and the themes of the weekend.
The event is now fully booked, but we have selected two Guest Bloggers, Frances Davis and Niki Russell, who will be providing live twitter coverage and compiling post-event blogs. Follow @skyeatlas
